Art Lithography from Jean Gradassi
After thirty-five years of creations and illustrations of art, with a monastic discipline, there are sixty illustrated editions, that is to say a total of more than one hundred volumes, because an edition can comprise from one to several volumes, example: Rabelais, 5 volumes - Shakespeare, 12 volumes). When we know with what meticulousness and what attention to detail, each architecture, each costume, each character is developed and with what "mastery" in color he manages to bring all these spiritual and animated scenes to life, we are transported from admiration for his art. Hundreds of people rub shoulders and clash against a background of old houses, from all eras: whether it is the interior of a castle with its ladies and lords, or a public square teeming with a disparate crowd , or even a tournament, a battle scene with his warriors "caught on the spot", the whole Middle Ages comes to life thanks to his talent, more beautiful than in our dreams, colourful, grandiose and, sometimes, also mischievous and mocking.
